BIOSAND WATER FILTER AND SOLID STATE LIGHTING SYSTEMS (SSL) TRAINING COURSE

Project training by Friends Who Care is usually the first step toward implementing a new Biosand Water Filter project or installing SSL systems. The training will vary according to needs.

We are constantly evaluating the possibility and potential of new projects and are willing to consider any country. We like to partner with a local Christian NGO for the most effective self sustaining projects.

AUGUST 3, 4 AND 5, 2010

The course consists of 3 days of intense training ( 9:00 am to 4:30 pm) divided between technical classroom training and hands on involvement in every aspect of a BSF project including making the filters each day, pouring cement, preparing the media, installation and implementing filters and follow up ministry.  You will be involved hands on in all phases of the project and will have made 3 filters by the third day. The course will include:

  •  How to Establish & Operate a Biosand Water Filter Project
  • Solid State Solar Powered White LED Lighting Program
  •  Building a Business Plan
  • The BSWF as a business or ministry
  •  Income and cost analysis
  • Making the Steel Mold
  • Train the Trainer (Kingdom Building by Multiplication)
  • Water Testing
  • The BSWF Project as an Effective Ministry Tool
  • The Role of Women in a BSWF Project
  • Good Hygiene Habits
  • Water for Life – Community Water Security
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness for a Healthy Environment
  • Micro Credit

·         9:00 AM to 4:30 PM daily at 63 Sunlake Way SE, Calgary, AB T2X 3E4 Canada

·         Fee: $125 (Spouse included) to cover costs of classroom and shop materials

·         Materials include a full manual, DVD of all class materials, all electronic teaching files,all PowerPoint Presentations and a CD of all project photos

·         Graduates receive certification as a Program Implementer with an accredited certificate

We will be introducing you to an amazing ministry tool in the form of the SSL (SOLID STATE LIGHTING) system – Solar Powered white LEDs'. We have made huge advancements in the system in just the last few months that have made it very practical and affordable to be used as a ministry tool, especially in areas of third world countries that are outside the electrical grid and have no access to electricity today. 

·          At the conclusion of the course you will be equipped to train trainers,

·          Setup BSWF projects anywhere in the world.

·          Train others to operate and take ownership of a project.

·          Install SSL systems in homes, churches and schools and share the love of Jesus.

·          You will be backed by 24/7 email support in all areas of your projects.

We will be using the newly designed light weight Compact Filter 2010 that reduces the final size and weight for easier handling.
